What you need to know
Cars over three years old must by law pass a yearly MOT test to show they are roadworthy. Your MOT can be completed up to 28 days before the expiry date giving you enough time to have repairs done if necessary.
During an MOT, the tester follows a strict criteria by the DVSA and safety checks must be completed. If your MOT goes pass the expiry date you could receive a fine of up to £1000.
